This page explains how Very Good Industries LLC handles information for AVG/MACHINE and this website.
AVG/MACHINE
AVG/MACHINE doesn't have accounts, ads, or analytics tools. It doesn't automatically send your projects, recordings, or samples to Very Good Industries.
Apple may share crash reports and beta-testing information with us. That's explained below.
Where your work is saved
AVG/MACHINE saves your work on your device.
You can turn on Automated Backups to copy projects and their audio to a folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive or a folder on this device. Backups are off by default, and your original projects stay as they are. If you choose a cloud folder, that service stores and syncs the copies. They aren't sent to Very Good Industries. Turning backups off, or deleting a project on your device, leaves existing backup files in your chosen folder.
You can also use Files and the share menu to bring files in or send them somewhere else. Your device's own backup settings may copy some app files to Apple. We don't receive those files.
Microphone
AVG/MACHINE asks to use your microphone so you can record. Your recordings are processed on your device and aren't sent to us.
Photos
If you choose a video from Photos, AVG/MACHINE asks for Photos access so it can use the video's sound. The sound is pulled out on your device and isn't sent to us.
MIDI keyboards and computers
If you tap Connect Bluetooth MIDI, iOS may ask to use Bluetooth so AVG/MACHINE can find and connect your keyboard or pad controller. You can make music without connecting one.
If you connect AVG/MACHINE to a computer over Wi-Fi for MIDI, the notes travel over your own network between your devices, not to us. MIDI carries notes and timing, not audio.
Buying the app
Apple handles purchases. We don't receive your payment details.
Crash reports and beta testing
- If you choose to share crash reports with app developers in your device settings, Apple sends them to us.
- During TestFlight beta testing, Apple automatically shares crash and testing information with us.
- Beta testers can also choose to send written feedback and screenshots through TestFlight.
We use this information to fix and improve the app. Apple explains what it shares in its privacy policy and TestFlight privacy notice.
This website
This site has no analytics, ads, or tracking scripts. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which handles basic connection details, like your IP address, to deliver pages and block attacks. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from bots. We don't use it to track you.
If you email us, we use your message and address to reply and help you.
Children
AVG/MACHINE doesn't ask anyone for personal information like a name, email address, or age, and doesn't send us what people make in it.
Changes
When a feature changes how information is handled, or when we publish another app, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
